The Poor Porker

Seriously, If you don’t know about The Poor Poker by now you may be living under a rock! The Poor Porker is one of the best things to happen to Lakeland, in the history of Lakeland! (Publix and Red Lobster are a close second…) To make it even better, Jarrid and Robyn are not only incredible chefs but ridiculously nice people! 

Make sure to stop by and grab some beignets this Saturday and every Saturday at Lakeland’s Downtown Farmers Market from 8am-2pm!

Purple Onion Deli & Grill The other week my buddy Jared and I decided to try something new for lunch… We landed on the Purple Onion. First off… This place is awesome! Here are my observations: #1. The place is always packed… the entire time we were there, there was not a table open for more than a minute… thats always a good sign. #2. It’s good to just take some down time every now and again… That said today is that day and now is that time… Today we are taking some time to ourselves and enjoying a little break in the shade at Barnett Park. It is a perfect day and a fantastic time to sit in the shade and enjoy… Well I guess enjoy nothing… Nothing but everything! It’s great to slow down and breath for a second! Do yourself a favor… Slow down and breath today!

Il Forno - Local Lakeland Pizza

Recently we decided it’d be nice to try something new in the realm of pizza… because honestly you can only eat pizza from the chain places so long… 

Normally for local pizza I tend to go to Palace (Downtown) or Romeo’s (Northside, Griffin) but this time we tried something new… This time we tried Il Forno… and I’m not going to lie… we were impressed… it is legit pizza and taste great! 

They use good ingredients and the people are super nice… We only did a pick up this time so I didn’t get the chance to really talk to anyone… but in the few times I’ve been there (oh yeah, we’ve ordered a few pies there, consistently good food) the staff has always been really nice and eager to help… both big plusses in my mind…

Honestly going local makes a big difference in Pizza… Lakeland does pizza very well!
